Het is bijna zover! Nog 2 nachtjes slapen..........
Het is vandaag donderdag 24 april. Nog maar 2 nachtjes slapen en we gaan op reis! Hoeveel zin we er ook in hebben, toch is er wel iets van spanning. We laten de 2 meiden dan toch maar hier achter. Wel onder de (goede) zorgen van oma, maar toch.........
Enfin, de meeste inkopen zijn wel gedaan. Backpacks, lakenzakken, wandelschoenen en -sokken, zomerkleding, bikini, extra lenzen en lenzenvloeistof enz. En natuurlijk hebben we een paar weken terug onze inentingen gehaald. Poeh, pijnlijke arm krijg je daarvan! Ik heb er nog een blauwe plek van.
Zaterdag tegen 13.00 uur gaan we weg van huis. Met de auto naar Dusseldorf en daar stappen we dan tegen 18.30 uur in het vliegtuig naar Munchen. Daar overstappen in het vliegtuig van Munchen naar Bangkok. Voor degene die graag willen weten waar we van dag tot dag uithangen, volgt hieronder ons reisschema:

Early this morning, you will be picked up from your hotel by our minivan and guide at around 06.45, and driven to the Floating Market of Damnoen Saduak, about 80 kilometers (50 miles) West of Bangkok. On the way you make a stop at saltwinning fields at Samut Sakhon. Explore the market. Your early departure this morning will mean you have seen the market before most of the tourist arrive.
Then continue driving to Kanchanaburi town. Board the train to Nam Tok over the infamous Burma Railway, constructed in WWII under Japanese orders by POW's and forced laborers. After lunch we will take a long-tail boat for trip on the Kwai Noi River and pass mountainous jungle scenery on the way to the River Kwai Jungle Rafts. Where you have the rest of the afternoon free. Although there is no electricity at River Kwai Jungle Rafts, oil lamps create a special atmosphere. Accommodation consists of basic, though comfortable, rooms with hammocks on the front porch and private bathrooms. In the evening there will be the traditional dances and music of the Mon (modest fee to be paid locally).

After breakfast, you will return back by boat. Drive to visit the Erawan Waterfall. Entrance fees to be paid on own.
You will spend a couple of hours at this wonderful waterfall. You can walk up all the way to the top of the waterfall or have a swim in the crystal clear water at one of the many levels of the falls. During weekends Erawan is a very popular recreation destination for locals and it will get very crowded.
After lunch at the falls, transfer to your hotel in Kanchanaburi town.
In Kanchanaburi you will visit the Bridge over the River Kwai, War Cemetery and the interesting JEATH Museum. The day ends in accommodation in Kanchanaburi
